Jeffrey Chin Returns to the Cadillac Hotel to Give a Holiday Concert

Jazz pianist Jeffrey Chin has been a regular in the Concerts at the Cadillac series at the Cadillac Hotel at least for as long as I have been trying to follow the free events offered there. He always seems to be leading a trio, although his rhythm support tends to change from one gig to the next. This Friday the other members of his trio will be Ron Belcher on bass and Billy Johnson on drums. He will also be joined by vocalist Fred Ross in providing a Holiday Concert of favorites and standards. Chin will, of course, be playing the Patricia Walkup Memorial Piano, a fully-restored 1884 Steinway Model D Concert Grand.

Like all Concerts at the Cadillac events, this show will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will take place on Friday, December 9. The Cadillac Hotel is located at 380 Eddy Street, on the northeast corner of Leavenworth Street.  The purpose of the Concerts at the Cadillac series is to provide high-quality music to the residents of the hotel and the Tenderloin District; but all are invited to visit the venue that calls itself “The House of Welcome Since 1907.”
